Team MS- Modi – Shah seems to have a free hand and they are doing it Right ! It probably started with Suresh Prabhu … Whom Modi very much wanted in his team and so a day before he was inducted into the Cabinet he joined the party . In case of Mr Prabhu one could say he was already safronized having been part of the Sena but the same cannot be said about Kiran Bedi . She may have had leanings towards the Sangh if the congresswalas have to be believed but then she was not from any party in particular and was an activist with loads of credibility . That she has been promised the Delhi Gaddi and that prompted her to join the party is possible . But that MS have been able to pull this goes to speak a lot about their political acumen .. In one swift stroke the duo seems to have halted the AAP revival if there was any !

Now if one looks back at the Congress era ( and that already seems to be a long time ago ) one cannot recall a single instance when a non congresswala has been inducted into the cabinet or probably into the chief ministership . This may be true of other parties too .. And as such nothing is wrong about it . If there are competent people in the party then they are as well given the opportunity that a democracy has thrown up . It raises a fundamental question as to why people join political parties … They would agree with the party ideology and would seek an opportunity to do public service as when such an opportunity becomes available through an electoral victory. And that being the case there would be many aspirants from BJP who would be aspiring for the CM Gaddi and for that matter for the Railway ministry .. And that the duo of MS have been able to defy the many aspirants and been able to exercise their diktat tells a lot about the clout that they hold in the party .

These have been bold decisions going against the grain of party politics and for sure would have won many more admirers for Modi and his brand of development politics . The intent is clear and the sights have been set for the long term .. And with such chanakya like astuteness the duo would help steamroll all the opposition in its path. But more important by inducting such competent people from outside the party .. a new approach to governance has been initiated and one hopes that the same standards are applied ( as done while inducting these two ) to evaluate the partywallas performance who occupy important portfolios ..
